Karen is a dedicated mom of four children who have been part of the Alamo Heights ISD for the past six years. With her family’s journey through the district far from over, Karen is deeply invested in ensuring AHISD remains a top-performing district where all children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Karen’s extensive experience as a local school board member, combined with her professional background in healthcare strategy and operations, equips her with the skills to navigate complex challenges with common-sense, transparency, and collaboration. Her commitment to education and community drives her passion to make a meaningful difference for every student, parent, and educator.

Karen served on a local school board for the last six years, serving as Finance Chair for two years and the Head of School search committee in 2021. Through her school board involvement Karen has led budgeting efforts and helped navigate leadership transitions.
